Beauty Brand Review: Tarte's Maracuja Oil
With the cold weather that just decided to hit Chicago and the upcoming winter, your skin might suffer from dryness, redness, and other sad skin problems. I’ve personally always been irritated with what seasonal dryness does to my skin, especially my face, but this year I’ve combatted it super well.
The one product I’ve been using specifically for skincare is Tarte’s Maracuja Oil, which is honestly the best product I’ve used from Tarte. I used to be pretty skeptical about using oil products on my skin, but this doesn't clog your pores or cause breakouts.
Its main ingredient is maracuja, and maracuja is actually magic. Maracuja (or maracuya, whichever way you want to spell it) is a natural oil that comes from passionfruit. It is supposed to improve skin texture, reduce signs of wrinkles or fine lines, and generally refresh the skin.
What it does is amazing:
- Balances oiliness and dryness
- Firms skin
- Brightens skin
- Smooths skin
I started using this oil about a month age and have had noticeably smaller pores and smoother, brighter skin. Gone is the dry, flaky skin I usually get!
I’d definitely recommend Maracuja oil, especially since it is compatible with all skin types.
It comes in three sizes: Travel Size - 15 mL, Regular - 50 mL, and Rollerball – 18 mL. Personally, I prefer the rollerball because it has easier application, which translates to no oily hands.

How to Use:
Using this oil is part of my nighttime ritual (which includes more tarte products, further reviews to come!).
If you're using the larger sizes, place a couple of drops oil your hands and apply around the face and neck generously. Leave on overnight until dry!
If you're using the rollerball, the rollerball applicator will disperse even amounts onto your skin for you. If you feel the oil is too thick, blend it out with your fingers. Same as before, leave on overnight as it absorbs into your skin and works its magic!
Maracuja oil also comes in an option that is a bronzing serum if you're leaning toward keeping that summer tan throughout the winter months.
