Where & Wear: Monterey Bay Aquarium
While visiting my family friends in NorCal, I had the opportunity to stop by the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Aquariums are great places to escape from the real world and be transported to one filled with amazing sea creatures.

The Monterey Bay Aquarium is located right on the ocean's edge on the historic Cannery Row and boasts more than 35,000 creatures that fill 34 major galleries. You can see animals ranging from sharks to sea otters to jellyfish. Because of the release of Finding Dory, the Aquarium's tropical fish exhibit was filled with young kids trying to spot their favorite characters.
If you have a young family member or friend, the Monterey Bay Aquarium is a great spot as it has many interactive exhibits like touching starfishes and crabs to feeding sea otters and penguins. And if the Aquarium heightens your need to go out and actually explore the sea, there are many boating and kayaking opportunities that allow you to go onto the ocean right next to the aquarium.

Aquariums are great places to take the kids you are babysitting or to even go on a nice, low-key date! If you have the time, check out your nearest one, and if you're in Chicago, the Shedd Aquarium is definitely a must visit.
