Men's Fashion Week 2017

Men's Fashion Week 2017 brought out the best and brightest from fashion's old and new guard alike, with choice collaborations, fresh faces and politically potent messages helping to reinvent even the most established fashion houses. Keep reading for MODA's definitive highlights from on and off the Fall 2017 Menswear runways.

1. An unlikely duo: Louis Vuitton x Supreme

High fashion and street style joined forces for Paris Fashion Week, with Louis Vuitton unleashing its latest collaboration with cult favorite clothing brand, Supreme. The collection is reportedly hitting select LV stores July 17th, but if you're keen on going home with a LV x Supreme duffle bag, phone case or deconstructed jean jacket, we recommend watching fashion headlines like a hawk.

2. Dolce & Gabbana gets tech savvy

D&G seemed to take a hint from their more buzz-worthy counterparts at Givenchy and Louis Vuitton this season, sending a string of social media borne talent down their Winter 2017-18 runway. Cameron Dallas, Lucky Blue Smith, Presley Gerber, Neels Visser and Luka Sabbat, among other Instagram-famous millennials, helped to imbue the collection with a more contemporary take on menswear.

3. Riccardo Tisci's American Dream

Whether coming from a place of irony or genuine hope for the future, Givenchy's fall collection drew inspiration from various aspects of American history and culture. Large scale prints reminiscent of Native American imagery, prairie style garb and red, white and blue lent the collection a decidedly graphic and rugged feel against the sombre backdrop of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France.

4. The classic two piece suit gets an upgrade

We're not quite sure what to make of Thom Browne's latest collection, which seemed to turn any possible iteration of classic men's suiting on its head. From shirt sleeves that trailed on the floor, to knit one-pieces reminiscent of footie pajamas and suiting silhouettes blown completely (and comically) out of proportion, we'll leave it up to you gentlemen to decide whether any of these looks have staying power.

5. Street style doubles as political demonstration

To many, the current nature of global politics appears to be taking a turn for the worse. Show-goers seemingly took to the streets this fashion week to showcase their frustration–from powerful slogans blazoned across Vetements hoodies to DIY patches and calls to action sewn across all manners of outerwear, view some of Phil Oh's favorite street style highlights here
