MODA Blog’s Holy Grail Products: Ashley Xu
Every product junkie knows that the ultimate reason behind racking up drawers and drawers of new lipsticks, concealers, powders, etc., is to find a holy grail. Holy grail products are those magical items that are just right–right texture, right color, right finish, right lasting power–and that’s what makes them so difficult to find. In honor of that search, MODA Blog has decided to share some of our holy grail products in a new series. Every week, a different blogger will discuss their three all-time favorite beauty products, which can include anything from makeup to skincare to hair care. We’ll get a peak into the beauty lives of our MODA bloggers and hopefully, discover some new holy grail products of our own.
Today, our Editor-in-Chief Ashley Xu shares her favorites!
It Cosmetics CC Cream
I'm not usually a fan of CC creams because I find that they lack coverage, but this one is BOMB. It offers flawless coverage, and it also blends seamlessly into the skin. And it has SPF 50+ so you know you're taking care of your skin!
Anastasia Master Palette by Mario
This palette is EVERYTHING. The colors are beautiful and warm, and the eyeshadows themselves are so buttery and soft. I don't wear this on an everyday basis, but save this for a night out look. Most of the eyeshadows are shimmery, but they layer onto each other in the most amazing way.
Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow
I'm a sucker for sleek packaging, and this bronzer/highlight duo really takes the cake. The bronzer is more cool-toned so it's perfect for creating shadow in a contoured look. The highlight is not too glittery, but it offers the perfect "pop" on those cheekbones. Most of all, the texture of the bronzer and highlight is incredibly buttery and smooth.
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner
When I create an eye look, it is never complete without a winged eye. I absolutely love this one because it's a felt-tip rather than a brush-tip which makes it easier to handle. For a softer look, I'll use the brown color instead.
Ardell Lashes in Demi Wispies
I can't justify spending a lot of money on lashes that will just be thrown away after a couple of uses, but I've never had to venture any further than Ardell's Demi Wispies. They really open my eyes as they are long and fluttery. I have to cut the ends though because they're a little too long for my eye, but otherwise are perfect for a night look.
