Chitown Spring Break Bucket List

Chitown Spring Break Bucket List

You don't have to venture as far as Cabo or NOLA to soak in some sun, relax and embark on new adventures over spring break. If you plan on staying in Chicago, here are some great ways to spend your time, try something new or take a much needed breather in between quarters.

1. Save a sunny day for a Chicago Architecture tour on the River

A bit cliché, but definitely worth the trip for amazing city views (and the opportunity to learn a thing or two!). Take advantage of better weather and grab a couple friends for this definite crowd pleaser.

2. Cocktail hour, speakeasy style

Take a cue from the past and venture over to The Violet Hour, an intimate, speak-easy style cocktail bar with uniquely crafted concoctions. You can also book cocktail making classes to fulfill any mixologist related fantasies.

3. Bike along the 606

Chicago's equivalent of the Highline in NYC, the 606 is an uninterrupted, elevated rail line perfect for long distance runs or bike rides. It connects the trendy Logan Square, Humboldt Park, Wicker Park and Bucktown neighborhoods, so there are plenty of interesting detours you can make along the way!

4. Enjoy live music and Michelin reviewed food at Thalia Hall

Designed as an opera house at the turn-of-the-century, Thalia Hall is now home to a revolving roster of alternative music acts and Dusek's Board and Beer, Chicago's favorite brunch destination.
