Vaseline Beauty Hacks
While I love trying out new makeup, I’m also a sucker for a good deal, and there’s no better deal than a multi-functional beauty product! My favorite of which is Vaseline—I am thoroughly convinced there is no beauty problem Vaseline can’t fix. The literature on Vaseline's many uses is vast, but here are my top three favorite Vaseline beauty hacks.
Chapstick
Vaseline does wonders for dry skin. In the wintertime, when my lips get chapped and I’ve yet again lost my favorite Burt’s Bees Pomegranate Chapstick, I know I can turn to Vaseline to moisturize my lips with a shimmer. Convenient stores sell smaller individual tubs of Vaseline lip therapy, in flavors like Cocoa Butter, Rosy, and even Creme Brulee.
Makeup Remover
Vaseline also works quite well as makeup remover, especially for eye makeup. While I love the look of my Kajal crayon eyeliner, it smudges super easily. Dabbing the tiniest bit of Vaseline on a cotton swab is a quick correction to eliminate any eyeliner smudges without making your skin feel overly dry.
Highlighter
Using Vaseline as highlighter is my personal favorite beauty hack. Even if you are not wearing foundational makeup, rubbing a subtle amount of Vaseline on your upper cheekbones gives them a natural highlight, perfect if you are going for that springtime dewy-look. Just be careful if you are wearing foundation, because too much Vaseline will actually remove the makeup underneath. Don’t let the diverse uses of Vaseline sabotage your beauty routine!
There are plenty of other unique Vaseline beauty hacks all around the Web. Some neat ones I hope to try are using Vaseline as mascara, perfume preparation, and DIY body scrubs! For more uses of Vaseline, check out this post from Byrdie.
