Gucci Makes Memes
In a humorous and fitting continuation of fashion's ever evolving relationship with social media and today's meme-obsessed millennial generation, Gucci unveiled an entirely meme-inspired ad campaign to market the brand's latest watch collection.
While other fashion houses have relied on a series of hashtags or Snapchat filters as a means of appealing to their consumers, Gucci–which has recently been reinvented as the go-to brand for both bohemians and street style rebels–has gone straight to the source. From high fashion spinoffs of the famed Arthur clenched fist meme to the "me" vs "also me" conservation chain (if you have to look either of these up, you're probably not Gucci's target audience), the That Feel When Gucci campaign features over fifty-five memes created by photographers and artists.
