World Stop...Carry On.
Scrolling through my Facebook feed normally entails intentional blocking out of sidebar ads. Simply put, they enable me. Somehow some creepy algorithm that tracks all my Internet activity curates ads specifically toward things I'd like.
It's great in theory; I see things I'm interested in, and then I buy them. Sadly, resorting to practicing that theory flooded my apartment with packages and left my wallet completely dry.
This week, however, a specific sidebar ad caught my attention and may have changed the game forever.
ULTA. NOW. CARRIES. MAC.
Having been notoriously exclusive to its online boutique and walk-in shops, MAC is one of the biggest makeup brands in the game. The minimalist aura and high-end reputation has always drawn attention. Its first rise to fame was all thanks to none other than Madonna. Her iconic lipstick look coupled with her "MAC Cosmetics" shirt was exactly what the company needed to establish itself in the beauty industry.
The mystery and draw to MAC was its exclusivity. If you wanted MAC, you couldn't turn to Sephora or Ulta; you had to go to MAC. Until now.
On May 7th, Ulta revealed its MAC collection on its online store. Carrying classics like Studio Fix Powder Plus and boasting the largest lipstick collection, Ulta now boasts claim to this iconic brand. While not all Ulta stores will immediately carry MAC products, the stores lucky enough to will also include 3 MAC makeup artists. (Watch out Brow Bar, looks like you have competition.)
