Product Review: Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum

Mad Hippie, a Portland-born company, prides itself on using natural ingredients for their "advanced skin care" products. Their Vitamin C serum promises to, "tighten, brighten & smooth your skin!" Mad Hippie claims their "award-winning serum is a harmonious blend of antioxidants that work wonders on evening skin tone, smoothing texture, and improving the overall appearance of the skin!" One look at the reviews makes it hard to ignore this product with recommendations from beauty magazines, declarations of its holy-grail status, and comparisons to high-end serums on the market.

After my first time using this serum, I discovered why this product has been given so much praise. Not one to use serums or oils, I was expecting this product to either dry out my skin or leave it feeling greasy and slick. However, when this serum is applied it's absorbed like a dream. After washing my face, I usually put one drop on my forehead, on each side of my face, and then massage the rest of my skin. Once fully absorbed, your face feels smooth and supple -- but not wet or slick. After a month or so of using this almost every morning and night, I have noticed my skin has an evener tone and texture.

Although not typically a current issue for college students, I can see how this serum is proactive in reducing the appearance of wrinkles creeping up (an inevitable results of our abundant lack of sleep and less-abundant wild nights out).
