How to Celebrate Black History Month in Chicago
Black History Month is almost over, but luckily for us, we're living in one of the best cities to celebrate. Chicago is rich with black history, so if you're looking for an excuse to get off of campus this month, consider checking out one of these many amazing events.
BREACH: a manifesto on race in america through the eyes of a black girl recovering from self-hate
Victory Gardens Theatre, Until March 11
Directed by Lisa Portes and written by Antionette Nwandu, who calls this play her "love letter to black women," BREACH tells the story of Margaret who "uproots her life, including her dead-end job and fizzling relationship, after finding out that she is unexpectedly expecting." Take advantage of Chicago's excellent drama scene and check out this highly rated comedy.
