Stay Hydrated

A common symptom of a cold is a sore throat. With discussion-based classes, sore throats can be even more of a pain. In order to relieve the scratchy symptoms, having a thermos filled with hot tea with you at all times definitely helps! Pro-tip: adding honey to your tea makes it sweeter and soothes your throat even more!

Pain Relief

With a cold, your readings and p-sets are not the only things that are giving you a headache. Typical cold symptoms also include headache and body aches. To prepare for these symptoms, it’s always a good idea to keep a couple of over-the-counter medications in your room!

Stay Warm

Bundling up might not cure all of your winter blues, but it sure feels nice to be wrapped up in a cozy blanket when you’re sick. As a cold is often accompanied by a low-grade fever, now’s a good time to bundle up in your favorite sweater and plug in a heated blanket!

Rest Up

As we get closer to finals week, sleep often seems like a luxury that we cannot afford. However, not having an adequate amount of sleep makes your body extremely susceptible to sickness. It is important to remember to sleep, even if that means setting your alarm for a 15-minute nap!

With super packed and hectic schedules, sometimes we let our health suffer in order to cram for an exam or fit in enough words for a paper. However, it’s important to remember that nothing is more important than our health. Stay warm, friends!
