Look for Less: Summer Breeze
Are you starting to feel overwhelmed, jealous and/or annoyed by the sheer amount of Coachella related content that has inundated your newsfeed? Don't worry, so are we. So until we can afford to drop everything and fly to California for a flower crown infused weekend of DJ sets, face paint and cutoffs, here are five Coachella-inspired looks all for under $30 that are perfect for UChicago's very own Summer Breeze.
1 - Up your style ante with a tie-front, halter or backless crop top. Rather than gravitating towards traditional festival favorites like tribal print, tie dye or fringe, opt for a subdued or spring inspired look for a more unique take on this popular, laid-back trend.
2 - Pair High waisted, wide legged pants with any cropped or form fitting top for a breezy, summertime look that doesn't sacrifice comfort for style. Whether you opt for culottes, cropped shorts or ankle grazing pants, look for a pair made out of an airy and comfortable material such as cotton or linen.
3 - If you love to accessorize with statement jewelry, an off-the-shoulder look is the perfect base to layer on any number of chokers, pendants and chains. Capitalize on the amount of skin this easygoing looks affords and go overboard on the bling!
4 - Often overlooked but essential to any effortless festival look are the shoes you pick to complete the ensemble. Gladiator sandals are the perfect, on-trend option for someone looking for sensible footwear that still makes a statement.
5 - Sometimes less really is more. Layer unique lace tops, bralettes or bodysuits underneath robes or sweaters or wear them as a stand alone piece. Pair them with denim cutoffs or a slit skirt and you're all set to lounge in the grass with friends or join in on the mosh pit!
