2025 Designer Profile: Sarah Sadati

“Very generally, I am inspired by the people I love, where I am from (Panama, Iran, and Florida) places I have visited, nature, retro-futuristic and classic architecture, and France. My preferred color palette is predominantly warm and earthy, including rich browns, deep reds, and muted oranges, punctuated by pops of vibrant blue, green, and pink. Influenced by Thierry Mugler and Elsa Schiaparelli, my designs and moodboard embody dramatic flair and re-inventing simpleness. I love Mugler’s bold silhouettes and theatrical designs, as well as his use of luxurious fabrics and sculptural forms. Schiaparelli’s surrealism and playful approach to fashion inspire a sense of whimsy and creativity. I am also a fan of textural elements, materials like leather, velvet, and knits, which showcases my focus on tactile experiences in fashion. The inclusion of architectural details and urban landscapes in my moodboard demonstrates my interest in structural forms and the interplay between fashion and environment. All three of my designs try to accentuate the model's silhouette, attempt to re-invent simpleness with creative touches, and use either special material or interesting features (i.e. buttons, rings, gold ribbons).”
