Lip Product of the Week: Meet Matt(e) Hughes
I have a deep love-hate relationship with liquid lipsticks. On one hand, they can be drying and harshly exaggerate the fine lines on our lips. They can also wear awfully, and reapplying them can be a *****. But on the other, I love the clean, matte finish it gives. I've tried almost every liquid lipstick under the roof: Colorpop, Anastasia, Kat Von D. But the one that has stood out to me as the crown winner is The Balm's Meet Matt(e) Hughes.
I have this in the shade Committed as well as Adoring. Committed is a nudish pink that goes well with any make-up look, especially a summery bronze one. Adoring is definitely a statement lip, as it is a deep burgundy red.
When applied, Meet Matt(e) Hughes stays on for quite some time. It lasted me through a 3.5 hour Cubs game that included a hot dog, nachos, and ice cream. And even if it does fade, reapplying is easy. The formula does not clump; it's incredibly easy to apply. There's even a slight peppermint feel which I love.
