I Bought Those "Free" Leggings From Facebook

I Bought Those "Free" Leggings From Facebook

When things are too good to be true, it's usually for a reason. There's always a catch, some hidden plot twist, like those Facebook quizzes that promise to tell you your celebrity twin if you hand over all your personal information, Social Security number not required, but highly encouraged.

For months I had seen an ad floating around my Facebook feed about "free leggings" for just the cost of shipping. "Yea right" I muttered "no way that's not a scam." So I ignored and scrolled along my merry way. But the ad kept popping up and something about the sleek, athleisure-chic vibes drew me in and like I sucker I clicked through to their site to see what was up. Ok so the caveat to their ad was that the "cost of shipping" was $20 but then I thought about all the cheap pairs of H&M leggings I could buy that eventually snag or come apart at the seams. But these leggings were made from recycled water bottles and designed by a Lululemon vet. High-quality and good for the planet! Sold! I pulled out my credit card before I could regret the purchase.

Some three weeks later (you are warned that shipping, from Vietnam, could take some time) they arrive and holy moly am I in love.

First of all, they are ridiculously soft and silky to the touch. I wore them for an 18-hour day that included a long plane ride and I have never been more comfortable on a flight before. I went for my regular size and found them to be nicely form-fitting without causing the dreaded sausage legs. They passed the no-undie-show squat test and as well as the over the shoulder mirror test - two vital tests for the perfect legging. The waist is super high, the way I like it, but without ever feeling too constrictive a.k.a you can still eat in them. While the curved seams up the side hint at gym-wear, I am devoted to my Victoria's Secret sport leggings (check them out - seriously so good!) for a high powered workout. But these are perfect for lounging around in, topping off with a cute sweater when it's miserable outside, or doing a sun salutation in yoga class. All I wish is that they had a pocket or two, but hey, a girl can dream right?
