The Cheapest Clubbing in Paris
With a dozen different study abroad programs in Paris, it seems like there are hordes of UChicago students wandering the streets of France’s capital at any given time. Grab your friends, practice your French in a new setting, and dance your worries away!
Le Duplex (2 bis avenue Foch 75116; metro station: Charles de Gaulle - Étoile)
Just a minute away from the l’Arc de Triomphe, Le Duplex has two stories, meaning that if you hate the music in one room, just take the stairs to the next one. Open seven days per week, this club is known for being popular with international students and travelers. Entry usually varies between 15-20 euros depending on the night, but it’s fairly easy for girls to find free entry deals before 12:30am or 1am. Mix Club (24 rue de l’Arrivée 75015; metro station: Montparnasse-Bienvenüe)
You can take the stairs down to the dance floor... or you can take the indoor slide! There are platforms to dance on and a sprawling bar. Thursdays are free for everyone who enters before midnight, while on Fridays and Saturdays, girls are free until 1am. If you want to use these deals, make sure to sign onto the website’s guest list and have the confirmation email handy when you arrive.
Palais Maillot (2 place de la Porte Maillot 75017; metro station: Porte Maillot)
Conveniently located close to Champs-Elysées, Palais Maillot has an upstairs lounge where you can take a break from dancing if need be. Depending on the headliner, entry is frequently free before 1am if you sign onto the website’s guest list.
Point Éphémère (200 quai de Valmy 75010; metro station: Jaurès or Louis Blanc)
Not exactly a club, Point Éphémère is an old abandoned building that was renovated into an event space around a decade ago and hosts festivals, exhibitions, and concerts. Occasionally, it transforms into a club, often with free or cheap entry prices. Bonus: it’s located just along Canal St. Martin, where on weekend nights in warm weather everyone sits and pre-games with snacks and music and friends.
Café Oz (three locations at metro stations Grands Boulevards, Chatelet, and Denfert-Rochereau)
Technically, this one is a sports bar, but hear me out. After midnight or so, all the tables and chairs are pushed to the side and it turns into a quasi-club. Entry at this Australian ex-pat run bar is 10-15 euros on Friday and Saturday nights (one drink is included in the price), but it’s free for everyone on weeknights.

Download the app ParisBouge - it often has free entry coupons before 12:30am or 1am, most often for girls but occasionally for anyone. Besides coupons, the app has a lot of information in terms of what kind of music or artists clubs are hosting, as well as important logistics like addresses, prices, and metro stations.
