Where & Wear: Roister
Located in the Fulton Market neighborhood and part of the Alinea group, it is no surprise that Roister delivers an impeccable bite. It is almost an established fact that Chicago does New American food like no other, and Roister is no exception.
With an open kitchen design, you feel close and intimate with the rustic ingredients and hand-crafted cuisine. They tear down the typical swinging kitchen door barriers and allow the magic of the kitchen staff and chefs to be shared with their guests.

From drinks to dinner, everything on Roister's menu is artfully crafted and utterly delicious. Last night, I indulged in all three of their appetizers (aged cheddar rillettes, chicken liver toast, and hushpuppies), oysters, shrimp & grits, and pork butt - it was quite the decadent feast. I can also vouch for their various drinks all packing a delicious punch, especially their sweet old fashioneds and "runner gets the tai" cocktail. See the full menu here.
What to Wear:

I wore a little matching houndstooth jacket and skirt set that I got on super sale (unfortunately, no longer available) from Zara. I added my typical uniform staples of a black turtleneck, black boots, and black tights to keep this sporty/preppy combination more inside my comfort zone. ASOS and Missguided are great places for finding cute co-ord sets.
