Four Watches for a College Budget
As college students, we're always rushing against the clock to complete our latest assignment, get to our next class, or budget enough time for sleeping and socializing amidst our busy academic schedules. And while smartphones have become our go-to tech accessory for everything from keeping up to date with social media to managing our finances, there's something to be said for the tactile, old-fashioned appeal of a wrist watch. Keep reading for our round-up of the best watches you can spring for on a college budget.
1) Sinobi Quartz ($9.99 on Amazon)
The Sinobi Quartz is the cheapest watch money can buy. At a measly ten dollars, the Sinobi is a minimalist watch with notches on the hours and not many other outstanding features. The only qualm with this watch is its logo, which unfortunately looks like it was designed by a six year old accidentally let lose on graphic design. If you can get past the terribly designed typeface, the watch is by far the best bang for your buck.

2) Timex Weekender ($29.05 on Amazon)
The Timex Weekender is an affordable and stylish watch widely renowned as one of the best watches for such a low price point. The watch is simple in design, with a black and white color scheme only offset by a red seconds dial. A ring of the hours in military time runs inside the main dial for those more accustomed to 24-hour time. The watch is, however, not perfect. Many people complain of the loud ticking of the seconds, supposedly audible even through wood cabinets. If you can deal with knowing exactly when each second passes, even when you’re trying to sleep, this is the watch for you.

3) TSS Sparkle Star ($49.99 on Amazon)
The TSS Sparkle Star is a simple black and white dress watch that gives off a classy air dressed up or down. The watch has some unique features, including a stopwatch, chronograph, and a date display. Although the watch face is full of smaller dials, the watch does not feel overly busy. However, the watch can be inconsistent in quality – me and my friend both had one and while his is still going strong after six months, mine has unfortunately stopped working. If you’re willing to make a bit of a gamble on a beautiful watch, the TSS Sparkle Star is a perfect choice.

4) Invicta 8926OB Pro Diver ($79.66 on Amazon)
If you don’t mind homages, the Invicta Pro Diver is a beautiful Rolex mimeo at a relatively inexpensive price range. The watch features luminous markers at each of the hours and a date window on the right side of the face, at three o’clock. The watch comes with a metallic strap that can be easily swapped out for another NATO strap. If you’re looking for a classic watch that will stay fashionable as long as Rolexes are in style, the Invicta is the watch for you.
