A Taste of Country in River North: Bub City

River North might not seem like a place you would find a country bar, but as soon as you step inside Bub City you'll be convinced otherwise. The rustic interior has plenty of seating, live music, and country touches like an American flag composed of beer cans. The menu boasts buffalo tater tots--which are some of the best tater tots in Chicago-- and a full array of BBQ including ribs, fried chicken and several sandwiches. They also have a variety of cocktails like the Horse's Neck, a frozen pomegranate margarita and an extensive selection of whiskey.

Bub City not only has great food and drinks, it also has a unique country atmosphere that can be hard to find in Chicago. Most Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, their stage hosts live country performers. Stop by on a Tuesday for karaoke or a weekend morning and order off their brunch menu, which includes a Bloody Mary bar. Bub City is also conveniently located on Clarke between Hubbard and Illinois. The venue is near numerous other bars and restaurants including Bottlefork, Three Dots and a Dash, The Boss Bar, and Paris Club, but once you try Bub City you may never want to leave this little piece of country.
