Highlighting 101
I love highlighting--it gives the face a fresh, ethereal glow, and it's a nice change from the full-coverage matte foundation look. But, there are so many highlighters to choose from in the market, so where do you start? Here, MODA gives the low-down on highlighting.
Powder
If you've got a more oily complexion, try a powder highlight. Powders are also great to layer onto the face if you've used a powder blush/bronzer or if you have already powdered your foundation. Pro-tip: to give that lit-within glow, dab a wet Beauty Blender on top of your highlighter to really press it into your skin. Some of our favorite powder highlights include Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter, The Balm's Mary Lou Manizer, and Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Powder.
Cream
Creams are perfect if you have more dry skin. Cream highlighters are tend to stay longer on your face. I also find that it looks the most natural. If you feel like you want to set your cream highlight, feel free to use a powder on top of it. We recommend RMS Living Luminizer and Benefit Watt's Up.
Liquid
Liquids are super versatile! Not only can you layer it on top of your foundation, you can also either (1) mix it into your foundation to give your face a more youthful glow, or you can (2) wear it underneath your foundation. We love Burberry Fresh Glow, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector, and Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops.
