MODA Fashion Show: What to Eat

MODA Fashion Show: What to Eat

You’ve got your ticket to the MODA 2020 Fashion Show. You know what you’ll wear, how you’ll get to Zhou B Art Center on the 28th, and who you’re going with. But where will you eat???

Never fear—I’m here with recommendations!

Prix Fixe: Han 202

Got $35 to spend on yummy foods? Treat yourself to four courses of inventive and modern Asian-fusion cuisine at Han 202. And for all the over-21s in the room—they’re BYOB with no corkage fee. (vegetarian friendly)

Critical Acclaim: The Duck Inn

This retro gastro-tavern has been getting crazy-good reviews. From their signature rotisserie duck and elevated classics like the Duck Inn Dog (their take on a Chicago hot dog) to beautifully presented modern dishes like their Winter Vegetable Terrine or Beef Tartare, The Duck Inn deserves a visit. They also have Chocolate Panna Cotta and chocolate is one of my main food groups so I kind of have to love them. (Seriously though, go check out that dessert list. My mouth is watering.) (vegetarian friendly, unsure about vegan)

Bar Food: Simone’s

Warm atmosphere, bar-top built from a bowling alley, graffiti by local street artists, comfort food with a twist…what more could you want? Open until 2am, Simone’s is here for your pre-fashion feast or to fuel your post-show debrief. (vegetarian & vegan friendly)

Local Chains: Antique Taco

If you haven’t been to an Antique Taco, the MODA show is the perfect opportunity. It’s a little pricey, but here are a few reasons to go anyway: the business is minority- and women-owned, they makes their tortillas from scratch daily, they source ingredients from local farms—AND the tacos are freaking delicious. (They have a dessert called Bang Bang Horchata Pie. Go try it.) (vegetarian friendly, but not too many options)

Fusion: Kimski (Maria’s Packaged Goods)

This is a Korean-Polish fusion restaurant, and if you say you’ve ever heard of that before I will definitely be asking for proof. Kimski is a new addition to the Bridgeport staple that is Maria’s specializing in street-food style dishes for reasonable prices. (vegetarian friendly)
