NBA Style Hits the Runway
A new fashion show is hitting New York City this weekend as a part of NBA All-Star weekend. The result of an effort led by the league's most popular player, LeBron James, the All-Star weekend festivities will include its first fashion show featuring athletes.
The fashion show will feature eight athletes including James Harden and Chandler Parsons. Harden, the league's leading scorer and an MVP candidate, obviously has a defined style in his iconic beard but he is no exception to the trend of NBA players pushing the envelope of the NBA's dress code and should make for an entertaining performance. Chandler Parsons of the Dallas Mavericks spends his spare time in the offseason modeling so he is no stranger to the fashion sphere. Chanel Iman and Shanina Shaik are two models who have already been connected to the fashion show that will walk the runway with the athletes.

The fashion show will be three different rounds, each one with a specific theme. The theme of the first round is 'Dressing for the Boardroom' while 'A Night Out' and 'Attire Worn to the Game' are also represented. The participants will be judged by NBA TNT analysts, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith, and the WNBA's Elena Delle Donna. Although the characteristically outspoken Barkley will have plenty to say, the reasoning behind his choice as judge for a fashion show is puzzling as his one time experiment in modeling and his zero NBA championship rings go to show, he isn't an authority on fashion or separating the good from the best. The show is taking place in New York City's Hammerstein Theater and will be broadcast on Feburary 14th at 5:30 Central time on TNT.
