Where & Wear: The Bristol
Just a couple miles north in Bucktown, you’ll find a charming American restaurant decorated simply with dim candlelight, long hard wood tables and exposed brick. Once you take your seat, your waiter will come over to inform you that at this family style restaurant, all dishes are designed to share. Looking down at the menu divided into snacks, starters, pastas and mains can be a little overwhelming to a first time diner (you might want them all!), but not to worry as your waiter will assure you she can help you pick the perfect amount of food.
Featuring locally farm-source ingredients, the majority of the menu at the Bristol changes frequently, often even weekly depending on the season. The rest of the menu features fan favorites that have won their way onto the permanent menu. These permanent menu items include a seedling farm apple salad, where the tart granny smith apples are the perfect contrast to manchego slices and hazelnuts. Another favorite in the pasta department is a single raviolo, which when sliced, combines egg yolk, ricotto, and brown sugar lemon butter into each bite.
Those over 21 should be sure to leave room for drinks, as their extensive list of cocktails features both classics like a Moscow Mule and novel drinks like "An American in Barbados," a personal favorite with gin, grapefruit cordial and cava.
With a late 20s crowd, the Bristol is a great place to go classic chic, so time to break out those Chelsea boots and silk shirts. Head to the Bristol for a delicious and sophisticated meal.
